Meet Gabe Hill – 19 Year Old Candidate for GOP National Delegate From Henrico County (VA-7)

GabeHillGabe Hill is only 19 years old but is a veteran of at least 3 political campaigns and is currently running to be a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this summer to pick the nominee that will run for President of the United States. And this would not be his first Convention, he also attended the State convention a couple of weeks ago.

It always gives me hope when I meet someone so young that is already working to shape the world he will spend his life living in. While most of his peers are attending Bernie Sander’s rallies demanding more free stuff, Hill has been demonstrating a work ethic that shows he understands the principles that this nation was founded upon.

When he was 17, Gabe volunteered for the Dave Brat campaign for a Government class project (which is where I first met this young Republican) and he quickly moved from working the phone banks to reaching out to other young people to bring them in to the campaign.

After the Brat campaign, Gabe moved on to help Vince Haley in his bid for the State Senate.

I spoke to Zach Werrell who was one of the brilliant Campaign Managers for the Dave Brat Campaign and also managed the Haley Campaign. (Zach is currently managing the Congressional Campaign of State Senator Tom Garrett). Werrell told me, “Gabe Hill has tremendous tenacity and a passion for politics I have rarely seen from a person his age. Though I never worked with Gabe directly on the Brat race, Gabe was a tremendous asset for Vince Haley, for whom he knocked thousands of doors own his own.

I asked Hill what his plans were as far as a career and he said he plans to major in business entrepreneurship and try to do his part to create jobs and, of course, make a living. Not surprisingly, he also sees a future in politics. He would like to start at the state level and see where it will take him.

Gabe Hill is a bright and energetic young man with a passion for all things politics. He is mature beyond his years and has a tremendous future ahead of him. He is a perfect candidate to send to Cleveland and I would hope the Delegates to the 7th District Convention will elect Hill to represent the District in Cleveland. The GOP needs as many enthusiastic young men and women as they can get to preserve the future of the Party. And this is an opportunity to show the “Grand Old Party” is also the “Grand Young Party” by sending Gabe to Cleveland.

Folks, Gabe Hill is the real deal.

Gabe Hill bio:

Dear fellow 7th District conservatives,

My name is Gabe Hill and I am running for Delegate to the Republican National Convention representing the 7th Congressional District.

I am a 19 year old TRUE grassroots conservative from Richmond, VA. I will stand up for the Virginia Republican Creed and our conservative values in Cleveland, Ohio. Some quick political background information:

I began working in grassroots politics in September of 2014 while working as an intern on Dave Brat’s U.S. Congressional campaign. I had the privilege of working my way up from phone calling to being in charge of bringing in young students to phone bank and canvass.

I then had the opportunity to work on Vince Haley’s Virginia State Senate primary campaign in March of 2015. As an intern my responsibilities ranged from raising funds to helping staff events, phone banking, and canvassing.

In August of 2015, I started working as an intern on Siobhan Dunnavant’s general election campaign. We were able to pull off a huge win for Siobhan!

Currently, I work for a political organization called Turning Point USA as the Richmond Field Director. The organization’s mission is to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government.

I appreciate the opportunity to share a little bit more about myself. I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of the 7th district’s residents before the District Convention on May 21st. I humbly ask for your support and your vote. God Bless

RADIO FREE BRAT! Cong. Brat’s Remarks on the Floor of the US House on Executive Power; And Sandy’s Announcement I Promised you Yesterday!

From the Cong. Brat Congressional office:

Rep. Dave Brat spoke on the House floor Monday about President Obama’s illegal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and the United States vs. Texas case being heard by the Supreme Court.

The Governors and Attorneys General of the Texas Supreme Court and 25 other states have brought this significant suit because President Obama issued an executive order that made illegal immigrants lawfully present in the U.S. – an action that he had previously stated 22 times was impossible for him to take.

“The government is handing out work permits and making illegal immigrants eligible to work in the United States as well as receive Social Security, unemployment, [and] disability benefits,” said Rep. Dave Brat. “This only hurts American citizens and taxpayers. What has Congress done about this? Not enough. The real issue in this case is not discretion but whether or not there is any limit at all on presidential power.”

“The founders recognized these distinctions and they made Congress the first branch – among equals – of the Federal government, and the most accountable branch to the American people… the founders created a system of checks and balances to ensure no individual could gain absolute power within the government.”

“Under our Constitution, the Congress is entrusted with all legislative powers – all –  including the power to establish a uniformed rule of naturalization. The founders drafted the Constitution to clearly state that it is not the president who writes the laws, Congress does. Much of the president’s job is to faithfully execute these laws passed by Congress. In fact, neither any immigration law nor the Constitution empowers the executive to authorize, let alone facilitate, the violation of the laws passed by congress.”

President Obama’s usurpation of power “is a threat to self-government itself,” Rep. Brat continued. “Our inaction time and again has expanded the administrative state and left the American people without a voice in Washington.”

Well said.  Almost a Daniel Webster moment.

Too bad two Federal judges got to decide who our representative will be.  And it’s not who we elected.  Cong. Dave Brat.  This whole thing is shameful.

No I do not intend to run against Cong. Wittman although the thought has crossed my mind.  The Libertarians would probably nominate me tomorrow and that would be a great honor.  And running for office is better than you-know-what!

But, that is not my announcement!  Why?  To paraphrase former Texas Senator Lloyd Bentsen:  I know Dave Brat and I know I am no Dave Brat!  But I would join the Freedom Caucus immediately if elected.

I herewith announce instead:  As the Greatest Hanoverian said:  “I know not what others may do but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.”  Well, I do not know what others may do but when I go to the polls this November, I intend to vote for Cong. Dave Brat.  I’ll write him in.  I’ll walk through a gasoline fire to vote again for Brat!  And no – neither Cong. Brat nor his office nor his campaign had anything to do with my announcement.

Should Tim Tebow Run for Congress? Could Be Good Idea – If Tebow Would Join Freedom Caucus!

All my readers know about my admiration for Tim Tebow (Even though he turned down the Crimson Tide for the Florida Gators – but hey nobody’s perfect!)

Check out this report from Christine Rousselle at Townhall:

Former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow is reportedly being eyed for a Congressional run, the Washington Examiner is reporting. After Rep. Ander Crenshaw, who represented Florida’s Fourth Congressional District unexpectedly announced his retirement, some were quick to speculate about a potential Tebow candidacy.

Personally, I’m torn about this idea. Tebow certainly has good character and solid values, but I’m not sure he’s ready for Congress just yet. It’s interesting to note that if he were elected, he’d be the youngest member of Congress by about two years.

I think Tebow would bring some needed integrity and personal drive and discipline to Congress, an institution that sorely needs it.  Could he stand up to Speaker Ryan?  Well, if he said no to this girl right here, I think he’d have the integrity and strength of character to say no to useless spending and futile compromises that just leave it for President Obama and his allies to win the field.

I want to encourage Tebow to consider the run but he needs to answer these questions:

  • Would Congressman Tim Tebow join the Freedom Caucus?
  • Would Tebow help our [now former!] Congressman Dr. Dave Brat to get out economic house in order?

If the answer is YES to both – I’ll help him.  Anyone in the US can donate money to any congressional candidate in any district.

Henrico Sheriff Mike Wade is Cantor’s Puppet (Music Video)

Henrico County Sheriff Mike Wade just won re-election to another term. However, Wade has been convinced by the Cantorites – the Bitter Cantor Clingers – to run against Dave Brat, the current congressman from the 7th District and the man that defeated Cantor. Political insiders know that Mike Wade cannot win, but it is typical Cantor tactics led by Ray “I’m gonna bankrupt the Virginia Republican Party” Allen. And Mike Wade agreed to be Cantor’s puppet. Such a shame. We all know the plan is to break Dave Brat so he will lose to a Democrat next November. Typical establishment politics. The voters be damned.

Thia video is to commemorate the underhanded politics Wade is now involved in.

Is Henrico Sheriff Wade going to Run Against Cong. Dave Brat in the 2016 Primary?

I heard a fragment on John Fredericks and saw this blurb at Blue Elephant about Henrico Sheriff Mike Wade possibly running in the primary against Cong. Dave Brat.

Here’s Sandy’s position:  I’m walking through a gasoline fire to help/vote for Cong. Dave Brat!  Here’s a place to go to help or give money for Dr. Brat.  We got to help Brat out if we have any hope to get constitutional government in the United States.

Again, I cannot confirm this report yet.  It is NOT official.  But let’s all walk through gasoline fires to help Dave Brat.

Bulletin: BLOG ENDORSEMENT – Amanda Chase in the 11th!

The blog endorsed Amanda Chase in the primary (so did Tom White) and we do so again (unanimously as is required under blog rules) for the general election.  Chase did something gutsy:  She refused to agree with the “liberal professor” lie that former Cong. Cantor raised about one Dave Brat.  I think she’ll make a great senator.  I plan to ask her about the term limits – we need initiative and referendum in the Commonwealth so we can place term limits on the ballot where it will win in a crushing landslide.

So get out there and vote CHASE tomorrow in the 11th.
