Ricky Rebel’s MAGA parody of YMCA triggers leftists

Ricky Rebel not only created a sparkling YMCA/MAGA parody video, but he also uploaded a video beautifully expressing why he supports Trump.

Okay, maybe it’s because I hit my teens in the 1970s, but I think that the Village People’s YMCA will go down as one of the great songs of the 20th century. It is an infectious bit of musical joy that makes everyone want to jump up to dance and sing.

I remember going to a wedding in the mid-1990s. They had a dance floor and a DJ, but nobody moved as the DJ played one hip-hop song after the other. Then, in an inspired moment, the DJ put on YMCA, and everyone in the room, young and old, was up dancing. The DJ then went on disco roll. We got Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive, The Village People’s Macho Man, lots of the BeeGees. It was great and everyone was having a blast. And then he went back to the songs of 1994 and everyone sat down again.

I’m taking you on this trip down memory lane for a reason. A few days ago, Ricky Rebel, a delightfully flamboyant gay Trump supporter, got together with friends to do a pro-Trump parody of YMCA:

A few days later, he took that same song to the streets in a video that went viral:

What’s fascinating is that anti-Trump gays were outraged that conservatives would use “their” song. Moreover, they actually believed that conservatives gave a damn (as in would have felt bias) had they known it was a “gay song.”

Ricky Rebel just released a video responding to the people who complain about his using YMCA for a pro-MAGA parody. What’s great about the video is that, after responding to the complaints about the song itself, Ricky explains why he likes Trump. It’s an excellent explanation and one that deserves watching.
